About
Hello! I'm Annie, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to 1974 Bookstore, Salt Lake City's newest and unique Independent Bookseller. We are a Mother and Daughters team, bringing you both a tiny bookstore and mobile book cart shopping experience.
As the former owner of a wonderful bookstore cafe in Jacksonville, Florida giving up on not opening another bookstore was not an option! In fact, I brainstormed the book cart concept on my drive back home to Salt Lake City and committed to an environmental friendly footprint. We strive to do this by offering a mixed inventory of both gently used books and new books, hoping to put a dent in helping keep books off our landfills.
In October 10, 2025, we celebrated the opening of our 1974 Bookstore "Tiny Bookshop" a cozy brick and mortar, serving the wonderful Pioneer Park, Rio Grande and Post District neighborhoods, as an extension of our mobile book cart. We welcome you to come visit and spend time in our cozy space; we offer several pockets of seating, free WiFi and ready to drink and eat beverages and snacks. In addition our bookstore is located within walking or biking distance to several local coffee shops, restaurants and and our Historic Pioneer Park.
We are excited and absolutely grateful to be part of the wonderful Independent Bookseller community in Salt Lake City, and thankful to all of our customers and friends who have and continue to support our little 1974 Bookstore journey. In uncertain times, we need to live, breathe and practice taking care of each other now more than ever.
Hugs, Annie, Beverly and Callista!
